4 Ways to Celebrate International Picnic Day in Chester County

The professionals at Mattioni understand how important it is to get out of the house and spend some time outside. What better time to do that than International Picnic Day on Tuesday, June 18? This informal holiday celebrates the simple joys of gathering with loved ones and dining outside. There are several fun activities and events you can plan with your family and friends to make some great memories on this day.

However, we understand planning and preparation can be a hassle sometimes. To make it easier for you, our team has prepared a list of ways you can celebrate International Picnic Day in Chester County, Pennsylvania. We want to make sure you have a good time free of any plumbing and HVAC related worries!

Hit the Hayride at Highland Orchards

Whether you want to pick some fresh strawberries, have a quiet picnic or want to throw a birthday party for your kids, Highland Orchards is the place to go. If you decide to go to this 200+ acre family owned farm, start off your day by picking some fresh fruit such as blueberries, cherries and strawberries.

Follow that activity up with a relaxing hayride around the orchard. If you choose their 2-hour option, you will get a 45-minute long leisurely tractor ride and will be brought to a secluded picnic or campfire area deep within the orchard. You can also go on their educational tours or visit their bakeries which serve freshly baked pies, donuts and rolls.

When

The orchards are open throughout the week from 9 AM to 6 PM.  If you have kids, bring them to “Story-N-Pick” on June 18th which starts at 10 AM. During this activity, kids will hear a story pertaining to a certain fruit that they will later pick from the orchards. Bring your picking baskets!
